Chemo brain can encompass problems related to receiving, using and creating information such as forgetfulness, trouble focusing and processing information, having a hard time sitting for long periods of time, increased difficulty completing daily activities, emotional changes and mood swings. It is not clear how exactly how chemo brain occurs but, the emotional rollercoaster of cancer combined with aggressive treatments, such as radiation, chemo , hormone therapy, surgery and many other drugs, our brain is affected and we lose some functioning. Chemo brain is wildly different for each individual; some may become slightly more forgetful during treatment, while others experience significant and permanent changes to their brains that lead to loss of career or, even, names of precious loved ones.
Tai Chi and slow movements can help enhance physical coordination while meditating; the deep breathing techniques will help bring more oxygen to the entire body, but especially to the brain. The various meditations we offer will help with brain clarity and allowing the brain to rest and heal; just make sure you take the time to carefully select which meditation is best for you: external object sounds, mantra, fire breath, water breath or lower energy center or bubble visualizations.
