There are many adjustments and “new normal” situations that breast cancer survivors face. Dealing with body changes and appearance issues is not an easy road to navigate. How one looks and perceives themselves is directly related to self-confidence. Physical changes are just another difficult challenge breast cancer survivors need to deal with. It can be difficult to express the emotions one experiences with such rapid and dramatic body changes. It can affect your behavior, your intimacy with others, your daily life. The challenge is to find the path to regaining your confidence. It helps to hear how other survivors have dealt with these issues. In this video from our friends over at Living Beyond Breast Cancer, young breast cancer survivors discuss the physical changes they experienced and the challenges they faced with body image issues. How did it affect them? How did they deal with it? As with all of the videos in the “Let’s Talk About It” video series, courageous women share their stories and experiences to “pay it forward”. If we can learn from those who have gone through it, we can pave the path and help others have an easier road by hearing the experiences of others.
