In our video series for preparing and recovering from upper body surgery, we would like to introduce you to a simple and graceful movement from Medical Qigong called Stretching the Spring, which focuses on the upper body, arms and chest. This movement will open up the chest area, as it leads blood, oxygen and energy to the shoulder girdle or upper body. These gentle movements, when combined with deep breathing and mindfulness will prepare the area for surgery and help speed up healing and recovery.
